John Hammond has invited you to take
a peaceful boat ride through the man-made jungles
of "Jurassic Park." You
will board your River Raft, on your journey through
Jurassic Park. Your boat will clear the loading
dock toward the large Jurassic Park Archway on the
other side waits peaceful non-aggressive herbivores.
Your trip suddenly takes a wrong turn when you are
thrown off course by a
Hadrosaur.
You enter the Raptor containment area where you
narrowly escape certain death. Your only way out
is through the Environmental Control Building, however
many of the carnivores have found their way inside
and are anxiously waiting for you. If you make it
past them you have two big obstacles to face. One
obstacle is a hungry 20ft tall 40ft long T-Rex,
the only way to escape him is the other is the 85ft
drop to safety. Can you survive Jurassic Park? Take

Straight from the movie the Discovery Center is
the island's central hub, the museum-like Discovery
Center incorporates an educational bent into its
dino exploration. Visitors can get a T-Rex's perspective
by looking through his eyes, test dinosaur eggs
to discover what type of reptile they contain, or
verify their dino knowledge on a quiz show called
"You Bet Jurassic." You can even watch
the birth of perhaps the deadliest dinosaur ever
to roam the face of the earth the Velociraptor.
This interactive kids' area is built to accommodate
adults as well. Rope swings, slides, stairs and
bridges swirl around the camp. You can even challenge
friends to a water-cannon fight. There are also
amber mines, and lava filled caves.

This attraction is designed for children 36 to
56 inches tall. Guests over 56" tall must
be accompanied by a child meeting this requirement.
Originally intended as more of a kid ride, Pteranodon
has become an Islands of Adventures enigma. A
cross between Disney World's skyway ride and an
old-fashioned swing, riders are given a swift
push out of the starting gate, and then the Pteranodon-shaped
cars swing around Jurassic Park island. The main
problem is that the track only holds three two-seater
cars. This makes getting guests on and off a tricky
proposition. Guests who stand the wait are treated
with a spectacular view, not only of the island,
but also of the whole park.
