Another
land of oversized heroes and villains, Marvel Super
Hero Island looks as if it was taken right from
the pages of a graphic novel. The whole land has
a metallic hue, full of clean hard lines and polished
alloy. All of the shops and restaurants are named
in that nondescript, comic-book style that just
says "Diner" or "Cafe." Comic
book greats such as the X-Men, the Fantastic Four
and the Silver Surfer tower over guests in life-size
cutout form.

Simply one of the greatest rides ever built, this
attraction actually takes theme park technology
to new heights. A masterful combo of the greatest
effects of Universal Studios Florida's Back to the
Future ride and Terminator 2 attractions, Spider-Man
mixes 3-D graphics, a twisting motion simulator
and live-action thrills. Guests are taken through
the offices of the Daily Bugle where publisher
J. Jonah Jameson and ace photographer Peter Parker
(aka Spider-Man) are working on the story of a lifetime.
Dr. Octopus and his evil syndicate have stolen the
Statue of Liberty and demand the unconditional surrender
of New York City as its ransom. Jamieson needs visitors
to take The Scoop, an experimental ride vehicle,
out into the streets and get some pictures of all
the action. So you pile into twelve-seater cars,
don 3-D glasses, and off you go through a whirling
vortex of dazzling special effects and motion simulation.
The ride features 13 scenes of 3-D effects, huge
fireballs, waterspouts and crashing explosions.
The symbiosis of all of these elements makes for
the wildest adventure ever.

This green titan is one of Islands of Adventure's
signature rides. Bruce Banner is experimenting with
a Gamma Ray Accelerator, and you're just the amateur
scientists to help him do it. Instead of the leisurely
ascent of most coasters, this menace shoots you
through the top of its 150-foot green tunnel --
from 0 to 40 mph in two seconds. After the famed
first onslaught, you are plunged into a "heartline
inversion" (a small, but effective barrel roll)
and then through a huge inverted loop. The ride
also features a 105-foot death drop through an underground
tunnel.

unstoppable super villain, has created a machine
designed to drain the life force from every single
rider though their fears. Dr. Doom's Fearfall at
its full capacity, shoots guests up its 200-foot
