Universal Studios theme park in Orlando has evolved into an innovative entertainment experience with a personality all its own. Its mind-blowing entertainment –based on pop-culture icons, Hollywood blockbuster films and hit television shows— takes visitors beyond the screen and into the heart of the action.

REVENGE OF THE MUMMY—THE RIDE

Revenge of The Mummy—The Ride is the only indoor roller coaster to employ forward and backward motion through the technique of track switching.

The ride catapults guests using linear induction motors at rapid speeds up to 45 mph through virtual darkness. It is the first attraction to use linear induction technology to propel vehicles through a themed environment.

At 6’8” and 650 pounds, the ride contains a robotic animated figure of the Mummy that is the most realistic and fluid animated figure ever created.

The ride places “Brain Fire” flames directly over guests’ heads, the first time an attraction has ever created a true immersive flame effect, with ceiling temperatures exceeding 3,400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Many of the Egyptian hieroglyphics decorating the walls spell out real words and warnings to the visitors.

SHREK 4-D

Shrek 4-D utilizes four state-of-the-art high-resolution digital cinema projectors and uncompressed digital video servers to create stunning 3-D images.

Shrek 4-D is the first movie to be projected through four digital projectors (two for each eye).

Reprising their starring roles from the Academy Award-winning blockbuster “Shrek,” are principals Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and John Lithgow. This unprecedented gathering marks the first time that a film’s original cast and creative team have united to produce an attraction based on an animated film.

TWISTER…RIDE IT OUT

The ominous funnel, the largest indoor tornado ever created, circulates enough air to fill four blimps in one minute, resulting in the deafening “freight train” sound often associated with actual tornadoes

150,000 gallons of recycled water are utilized daily at the Twister attraction.

Twister’s piercing sound system runs at 110 decibels, as loud as a rock concert. The main theater boasts 54 speakers with 42,000 watts, enough equivalent wattage to power five average homes.

TERMINATOR 2: 3-D

Terminator 2: 3-D is an interactive entertainment experience that combines 3-D cinematography, digital composite computer graphics and live-action stunt work.

Terminator 2: 3-D marked the first time that a feature film’s creative production team joined together to bring a motion picture concept to life in a theme park attraction.

The motorcycle in the attraction is a custom-built Harley Davidson “Fat Boy” that, along with its propulsion system, weighs 1,500 pounds.

EARTHQUAKE...THE BIG ONE

The ride creates all of the visual effects of an earthquake and resets them every two minutes.

The experience registers 8.3 on the Richter scale.

Approximately 65,000 gallons of water are released and recycled every six minutes.

JAWS

The 32-foot, three-ton killer shark is made of steel and fiberglass and has been outfitted with realistic-looking latex skin. Its glistening teeth are made of urethane. The shark moves through the water at realistic shark speeds of 20-feet-per second and thrusts with power equal to a 727 jet engine.

Much of the New England memorabilia was found in Gloucester, Massachusetts and surrounding fishing towns dotting the northeast coastline.

10,000 cubic yards of concrete, reinforced with 7,500 tons of steel and 2,000 miles of wire run through the attraction.
